INSPIRING STORY OF THE WEEK
THE HUMOROUS STORY
A BLOOMING NUISANCE
by Jan Hurst Nicholson
Yes, it’s true, humorous stories often inspire us.
What makes a story humorous? Ask Jan Hurst Nicholson, the winner of three Tales2Inspire awards. Each of her stories is a tickle the funny bone humorous story. In each of these stories she details a different episode from her life. None of them seemed funny at the time, but in looking back, she often smiles as she sees the humorous side to each situation. She hopes these stories will help her readers remember to look back on some of their own little life frustration with laughter as well.
A Blooming Nuisance is one of those humorous stories.
From sunlight challenges to monkey invasion, Jan got A for effort while revealing her severe lack of gardening skills. Caring for dozens of delicate African Violet plants was no easy matter. But master them she does, while fighting off curious monkeys and learning how to give them just the right amount of sunlight. Her neighbors were delighting. Upon their return, they offer her their highest form of kudos. But Jan wastes no time in turning down their kind offer.
