This is the story of an adventure that nearly cost one couple their lives.
For years Jim and Judi had dreamed of owning a sleep-aboard boat. It would be a prized addition to their lakeside summer cottage. They finally got it. Then, just a few weeks later, the couple were aboard that dream-come-true when it delivered the novice sailors into a stormy life-threatening crisis.
Just hours after their boat had been delivered, a neighbor and respected boater dropped by to offer some advice. Art Quinn had a well-earned a reputation in the area for numerous rescues of boaters. The long and narrow lake had become infamous for its unpredictable and often violent storms.
Thanks to Art’s lessons, Jim and Judi were able to recognize the early signs of an impending storm. It turned out to be one of the wildest on record, and Jim and Judi found themselves and their boat caught right in the middle of it. Well, you know they survived, but the devil is in the details.
