PEGGY, THE REDHEAD

Before I had ever met my boyfriend’s cousin Peggy, he had told me lots of humorous stories about her. So I was eagerly waiting my turn for an introduction, especially after learning that she had just become a redhead. My boyfriend, who wasn’t likely to notice such things, raved about her new look. He said that if you didn’t know her from before, you’d swear it was her natural color and added that she looked simply stunning.
My boyfriend’s enthusiasm only enticed me further, and when I finally did meet Peggy, she and I hit it off immediately. She asked me what I thought about her red hair and I assured her that it suited her to a T. “You have that light skin tone, a few freckles across your nose and even a bit of reddish fuzz on your arms,” I enthused. With her typical sense of humor she quipped, “The fact is, I am a natural redhead under my lace bikinis. Maybe I should just walk around standing on my head!”
A gifted story teller, in the next several years, Peggy shared several humorous stories involving her and her red hair. Once her finance, in a fit of anger, called her a FRICKEN REDHEAD. Unperturbed, she got even when she used those same words to introduce herself to his hostess later that evening.
But the funniest of all was the young intern who, in an attempt to answer that age old question, “Does she or doesn’t she?” did something unthinkable. Although he was able to satisfy his curiosity, the last laugh was on him. Take a guess before you go on,.
