You won’t want to miss this Inspiring Story!

This is the inspiring story of Dan Johns and his trumpet.

Dan started dabbling with musical instruments in grade school. Early on he was ecognized for his musical talents and by high school he played in Winner #Tales2Inspire #Inspiring Story
every all-Nebrask state competition. The trumpet was always his best friend.

Years flew by. Aside from his career as a vocational high school teacher, Dan continued to play in local dance bands. For fifteen years he was lead trumpet in the Tavern Band at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs. Then Dan developed C.O.P.D. He and his wife Jean moved to Arizona, where the dry dessert air eased his breathing. He joined several local dance and concert bands, always sitting first chair as their lead trumpet player. And then the “downhill run” of C.O.P.D. caught up with him.

The Downhill Slide

Dan’s disease progressed from bad to worse. Finally advised that his days were numbered, he entered a Hospice program. But this was hardly the end of Dan Johns’ story. And the Music Plays On is the inspiring story of how Dan’s beloved trumpet literally saved his life. And so, the music played on.

Their band performs in the northwest valley of Phoenix, Arizona. “I have known and utilized the skills and enthusiasm of many talented musicians.
