In this inspiring story, David shows us what we humans can learn from observing the lifestyle of his favorite birds, the Canadian Geese.
David watched in awe as a flock of Canadian Geese spiraled up in the sky. But after a few minutes of spiraling, they figured out which way was north and headed in that direction. Then, to ease wind drag, these intelligent birds began to form up into their characteristic V formations. “What marvelous works of nature,” he thought to himself. Newly divorced and still unsettled, he marveled at these wondrous creatures ability to mate for life.
Later that day he met up with a old friend at an outdoor café. She got right to the point, suggesting that they should take their relationship to a more intimate level. At that very moment, a flight of Canada Geese circled overhead, checking out the stream and meadow below. They gave David just the out he was groping for! Did his lady friend get the message and agree? You’ll need to read this inspiring story to answer that question.

- Canadian Geese was a challenging story to write because it involved two separate themes that needed to be brought together in order to transmit one central message. David persevered over several rewrites to bring us a thoughtful story with a timely message for today. Congratulations David! You finally brought home a winner.
