How can one dog change a man’s life? You will never know until you meet Houdini and learn his inspiring story!
Once Houdini came into Eddie’s life, everything changed. And all those changes were for the good! You see, Eddie, a victim of PTSD, had been living a life of an overweight hermit, locked in one room staring at the computer screen. But Houdini had other plans in mind for Eddie.
The love affair began on the third day of training at the NEADS (Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans) training center. Although Eddie had been introduced to Houdini for a short time on day one and day two, it wasn’t until day three, when Eddie was allowed to bring Houdini to his room, that the love affair really began.
Houdini has been Eddie’s constant companion for over eight years. And because of Houdini, some amazing things have occurred in Eddie’s life! They have become quite a social duo. For one thing, now they volunteer together on the ski slopes, teaching autistic children how to ski.
Houdini is quite the athlete. He and A-Rod, famed NY Yankees MVP and media personality, formed a special friendship. Today Eddie and Houdini still get invites into the Yankees dugout. They have formed a special treatment with the NY Giants as well. Once Houdini and Eddie were even invited to the fifty yard line to do the coin toss.
But the most amazing part of this story is about the day Houdini saved Eddie’s life. Simply unbelievable!!
