I am proud to introduce you to my two Tales2Inspire editors:

Susan C. Haley and Rod DiGruttolo

I have had the pleasure of working with both Susan Haley and Rod DiGruttolo in the past and have great admiration for them both. Susan has an eagle eye for spotting errors and a fine tuned ear to language nuance. Rod is the skilled group leader for the Sarasota Writers’ Group, where his traits of diplomacy, guidance in adding poignant details (and deleting others of lesser importance) shine. You won’t go wrong following the advice of either of these astute editors.
Creator of Tales2Inspire

Susan C. Haley: As an author myself, I so value the written word. As an editor, my main focus is to help the author develop a  piece of work from a reader’s perspective. Looking for flow, feeling and relevancy, I check for punctuation, structure and consistency making constructive suggestions without rewriting the author’s work.

You can visit Susan’s non-commercial website at: www. to learn more about her. Contact Susan at: Put  EDIT HELP in the subject line.
Read Susan’s article, Through the Eyes of an Editor, for some great pointers on writing like a pro.

Rod DiGruttolo: Are you a story teller? Well, I am and I know telling a tale is easier than writing it down. Words on paper (or electronic media) show little action because speech patterns and body language are lost. Using only words to convey your intended message in print form takes time and thought but it can be done. Often potentially moving stories are written so that they come across as newspaper articles. The facts are there, the grammar is correct and the words are spelled right but they have little feeling and no heart; because of that, the story does not move the reader. Too much information can actually distract readers from the central theme of a story and too little might kill a great tale. I help writers find that balance. Sometimes parts of a story might better be eliminated and others expanded. I have worked with Lois on several Tales2Inspire projects in the past and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I look forward to helping you as well. You can contact me at: and put EDIT HELP in the subject line.

Thank you for putting me in touch with Susan Haley. Working with Susan has been extremely helpful in polishing my story. Susan challenged me but I always got the sense that she truly believed in me and my ability to live up to that challenge. Her experience and expertise were evident and her advice was no nonsense. I really appreciated that . . . (and the fact that) while we both worked to make the writing as good as possible, she never tried to change the spirit of my message.I would now consider Susan a friend and it was a joy to have her share my pleasure at a job well done.

It was quite a pleasure to work with Susan on editing my story. She got me to dig deeper to express on paper the emotion that was in my heart. Her feedback was constructive and helped me to develop a much more touching story. I am truly happy with the result.”

It was an honor and privilege to work with Susan, and a very humbling experience for me. Her editing skills are second to none and she presents them in such a kind, caring manner that you find yourself begging for more of her time. Her sincere encouragement makes me want to be a better writer.

Rodney DiGruttolo provided me with insightful suggestions and editing which greatly improved my novel. He acted as a sounding board and a constructive advisor, providing me with fresh perspectives as needed, to rework the weak spots, elevating the overall quality of my book. Rod is an author too, and leader of the bi-monthly meetings of the Sarasota Writers’ Group. He understands writers, and best of all, he helps them understand the average reader. Our membership represents a wide spectrum of genre. As a member of this group, I have witnessed his encouragement, perceptive critiques, and helpful advice to fellow writers in our diverse membership. I consider myself fortunate that he agreed to help me. I highly recommend him as an editor.
